The Brickwork of Philosophy

Distinctions are like the bricks out of which the building of philosophy is constructed.  The larger the array of distinctions used, the more colourful the building will be, and the more difficult it is to discern any obvious recognisable patterns.  Scholars spend there lives arguing for their own version of patterns and often find it hard to see other patterns amongst their own.
